Can Arsenal finally break their streak of road futility?

Arsenal are floundering right now. That’s the only way to describe it after losing four straight road matches in the Premier League, giving up three goals in each. There is a massive amount of pressure on Arsene Wenger right now to start getting results — but they have to head on the road once more to face Middlesbrough, who held them scoreless at home earlier in the season.

Of course, it’s not like Middlesbrough are in great form right now — they’re winless in 13 straight league matches, and have been held scoreless in nine of those. That’s a shocking run of futility, and it’s little surprise to see them deep inside the relegation zone. If there’s ever going to be a time for Wenger to lead Arsenal to a long-awaited emphatic road win, this is it — but if Arsenal fail to win on the road again, there’s going to be some serious questions for Wenger to answer.

Arsenal have a couple of injury concerns, but nothing that’s going to make Wenger lose much sleep. Backup goalkeeper David Ospina, reserve forward Lucas Perez, and backup midfielder Santi Cazorla are all out, but Arsenal have other options at each position they can turn to.

Middlesbrough are in injury shape that can only be described as interesting — each of James Husband, Fabio Da Silva, Gaston Ramirez, George Friend, and Calum Chambers are expected to be healthy for the match, but how healthy is the question after each have dealt with various injuries of late.
