The Manchester Derby is back and more important than it’s been in a long time, with Manchester United heading across town to face Manchester City in a match that will determine which side of the city will be in the top four of the Premier League heading into the final stretch of the season.

José Mourinho and Pep Guardiola are old managerial rivals used to going head to head in important matches, and that history will play a big role in this match. With just one point separating these two teams coming into this match and six games to go, the three points available here are almost certainly going to be the determining factor in who finishes over who at the end of the season. And with so much on the line in this game, neither Mourinho nor Guardiola are going to be holding anything back as they slug it out for superiority.

Manchester United are heavily battered by injuries right now, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo, and Juan Mata all out for the season, plus both of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones out for at least another week. Add in injury concerns for Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera, and Mourinho’s squad is looking awfully thin in important places. Manchester City aren’t much better off, with each of Sergio Agüero, David Silva, Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho, John Stones, and Bacary Sagna in various degrees of doubt with a wide range of injuries and knocks. Even if all six players are on the field, they won’t be at full health, which could seriously hamper whatever game plan Guardiola wants to put into place.
