The arrival of new manager Paul Clement appeared to breathe life into Swansea City, though they’ve stalled again with only one point from their last three games. They sit just a place and a point above the bottom three heading into the midweek fixtures, and could very much do with a positive result at home to Tottenham Hotspur — a task easier said than done.

They may have been hit by a wave of injuries of late, but Spurs remain one of the league’s most on-form sides. They’ve won four straight Premier League matches, and sitting only seven points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino’s title dream isn’t yet over. They’re unlikely to make a mistake away at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday.

Sidelined for Swansea City are Àngel Rangel, Nathan Dyer and Leon Britton, three veterans of their promotion campaign six years ago. Wayne Routledge is set to miss out due to personal reasons, while striker Fernando Llorente faces a late fitness test. Tottenham Hotspur will certainly be without regulars Danny Rose, Harry Kane, and Erik Lamela; Victor Wanyama is an early doubt.
