Since the turn of the new year, Everton has been the most entertaining team in the Premier League, and they kept that going on Sunday. The first half of their match against Leicester City featured five goals, including three in the first 10 minutes.
Everton and Leicester City combine for 5 goals in magnificent first half
And with 5 different scorers too!

This was the first time in three-and-a-half years that a Premier League game has had five different goal-scorers in the first half. That was particularly notable, but this type of game isn’t out of the ordinary for Everton.
The Toffees are the Premier League’s leading scorers in 2017. They had 28 goals in the new year entering Sunday’s game, and they played the Premier League’s joint-highest scoring game of the season on February 4, a 6-3 win over Bournemouth.
It’s been a great year for wild games in the Premier League. Besides that Everton-Bournemouth game, there was one other match with nine goals this season: Swansea’s incredible 5-4 win over Crystal Palace, which featured seven goals in the second half. Just last week, Hull and Middlesbrough managed to produce a five-goal half as well, while Liverpool has been involved in two games this season that featured five-goal halves — winning one and losing one.
Everton went on to add to their goal tally in the second half through the Premier League’s leading scorer, Romelu Lukaku, who looks well on his way to clinching the golden boot.
