The end of the Premier League season is fast approaching, and teams are running out of time to meet their goals. There’s not much left for Southampton to do, but a home match on Wednesday gives them the ability to get two big things done at St. Mary’s Stadium: get a top-half spot almost completely secured and get an important win over Manchester United.
Southampton vs. Manchester United 2017 live stream: Time, TV channel, and how to watch online
Southampton are hoping to get a little bit of revenge after losing the League Cup final to Manchester United.

Manchester beat Southampton in the League Cup in February with a last-minute goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic that stung the Saints dearly in a long-awaited shot at a trophy. On Wednesday, with Manchester United carrying numerous injuries — including the season-ending absence of Ibrahimovic — and with their focus on the upcoming Europa League final, Southampton can get even with that defeat, something that would be eagerly welcomed by fans and players alike.
Southampton will be without a pair of key defensive pieces, with goalkeeper Alex McCarthy and center back Virgil van Djik both absent. For their part, Manchester United are limping their way into this match, with Ibrahimovic, Marco Rojo, and James Wilson all out for the season, plus Ashley Young, Luke Shaw, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah each looking unlikely to return before the campaign ends.
