The United States has to get a win to give themselves as good a chance as possible of winning their CONCACAF Gold Cup group — which means they’ll have to play far, far better against Nicaragua than they have against Martinique or Panama so far in this group.

The USMNT have not exactly impressed during the Gold Cup so far, despite their undefeated record, failing to hold one- and two-goal leads in the second half of both matches so far. They did manage to score a winner against Martinique, but that game should never have been as closely played as it was, given the gulf in talent between the two teams.

Nicaragua have lost both of their matches so far, but played tough in both games. A similar performance could be enough to seriously challenge the USMNT, given how the tournament hosts have played so far, and while they’re definitely a CONCACAF minnow, we shouldn’t be too shocked if they manage to mount a serious challenge in this match.

To watch this match online in the United States, you can stream it on the Fox Soccer Match Pass subscription service, or for free on Fox Sports Go with some internet providers. The match isn’t being shown online in Nicaragua, but you can find viewing options for other countries by checking the listings at LiveSoccerTV.
