Raheem Sterling had quite the roller-coaster game for Manchester City on Sunday. He struggled throughout his team’s game against AFC Bournemouth, and was working on becoming the scapegoat for a poor result. But in the 97th minute — two minutes past the indicated amount of stoppage time — he came up with a dramatic game-winning goal.
Raheem Sterling scores 97th minute winner, gets red card for jumping into crowd in Bournemouth vs. Manchester City
What a roller-coaster.

Sterling was so ecstatic about firing City to a 2-1 victory that he sprinted towards the Manchester City supporters and jumped into crowd. They were excited too, and made the bad decision of running onto the field. Sterling didn’t back away, but instead celebrated with them, forcing stewards and police to sort out the mess.
That turned out to be a very bad decision by Sterling, who was already carrying a yellow card. Jumping into the crowd is one of the celebrations that earns you a booking, and in the estimation of referee Mike Dean, Sterling did just that. Dean showed Sterling a second yellow and a red card, which will see Sterling suspended for City’s next game.
