Tottenham Hotspur gave themselves a big boost in the Champions League Round of 16 when they earned a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their tie against Juventus. Those two away goals could be their ticket to advancing to the quarterfinals, but they have to make sure to get the job done first.

Juventus were deeply angered by what they saw as a failure in the first leg. They were up 2-0 before ten minutes were up in the match, but then they steadily allowed Tottenham more and more into the game, ultimately ending in giving up a goal on either side of halftime and not being able to muster up enough fight to find a winner. The Italians are out for revenge, but first they needed to get back to their organized selves, grinding out a trio of 1-0 wins since that disappointment as they’ve gone back to basics to find their mojo.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have earned a trio of wins themselves, staying with the same sort of hard-nosed, never-quit style that got them this far in the Champions League. While the Premier League title race is all but over already, they still have a chance to make this a special season fans will long remember, and a deep Champions League run would be just the ticket to do that.

Thanks to their away goals Tottenham don’t have to beat Juventus to win the tie at this point — a 0-0 or 1-1 draw would still see them advance, and even a 2-2 draw is still survivable if they feel they can win a penalty shootout. It’s going to be interesting to see how Spurs decide to approach this game, but don’t expect them to just sit back and defend. That’s not who this team is — they’re going to come at Juventus, and they’re going to try to score goals to put this tie away.
