After Mohamed Salah went down with a shoulder injury in the Champions League final, fans feared the worse. The Egyptian attacker was in tears as he was hauled off, and everyone immediately started wondering whether he’d be able to suit up for his country at the World Cup.
Egypt team doctor believes Mohamed Salah can play in the World Cup
Salah didn’t break anything and should have a chance to make it to Russia

Thankfully, it looks like Salah has a chance to play for The Pharaohs in Russia. The Egyptian FA tweeted a statement from their team doctor, who had been in contact with Liverpool about the injury.
The statement says that x-rays were negative, and that Egypt’s doctor believed that meant Salah could be fit in time for the World Cup. However, neither Liverpool or Egypt has released a full diagnosis or timetable for recovery.
Egypt is in Group A, so they start their World Cup on the second day of the tournament. They kick off their campaign on Saturday, June 15, against Uruguay in Yekaterinburg. Egypt had an excellent qualifying campaign and could conceivably finish top-two in a weak group without Salah, but they’ll need their star healthy to do any better than that in Russia.
