There may be no such thing as a moral victory in the NFL, but last Sunday’s performance against the New England Patriots certainly felt like one. Kansas City went into New England and pushed the Patriots to the brink in a 43-40 defeat, picking up its first loss of the season but still improving to 6-0 ATS.
The Chiefs are averaging 35.8 points per game on offense and have shown no signs of slowing down regardless of the challenge placed in front of them. Kansas City is 10-4 SU in its last 14 games coming off a loss.
The Chiefs have also performed well in night games in recent seasons with a 9-3 SU and 10-2 ATS record in their last 12 games in prime time.
Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati missed out on a golden opportunity to put some separation between itself and the Pittsburgh Steelers in the standings, losing to the Steelers 28-21 at home last Sunday.
The Bengals are now tied with Baltimore for the top spot in the NFC North with a 4-2 SU and ATS record. With three of their next four games coming against Kansas City, New Orleans and Baltimore, the Bengals will soon determine whether or not they are legitimate playoff contenders in 2018.
Sunday night’s total is set at 58 points. The UNDER is 8-2 in the last 10 games between the Bengals and the Chiefs according to the OddsShark NFL Database.
After being one half of the most entertaining game of the NFL season so far last Sunday night, the Chiefs were a pretty clear choice to be back in prime time for an encore this Sunday night. Cincinnati and Kansas City both rank in the bottom four in the NFL in total defense and in the top six in the NFL in scoring offense, so look for plenty of fireworks in this one.
