Betting trends, odds, and analysis for the top NFL games of Week 8

The Los Angeles Rams are heavy favorites against the Green Bay Packers while the New Orleans Saints face the Minnesota Vikings in a pick’em matchup at sportsbooks.

The Los Angeles Rams are 7-0 straight up and 4-2-1 against the spread so far in the 2018 season. The Rams will try to stay perfect this Sunday when they host the Green Bay Packers.

Los Angeles is a 9.5-point betting favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Given that the Rams are averaging 33.6 points per game on offense while allowing only 18.3 points per game on defense, it isn’t a surprise to see Los Angeles going off as a big favorite at home.

It is however a surprise to see an Aaron Rodgers-led team as such a big underdog, with this game easily going off as the biggest number of points Rodgers has ever received in his career as a starting quarterback. The Packers are 4-13 SU in their last 17 road games against the Rams.

Over in London, the Philadelphia Eagles are a 3-point favorite taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. Both of these teams are off to disappointing 3-4 SU starts, and both are badly in need of a win to keep their playoff hopes alive before entering their bye week.

Jacksonville has covered the spread in nine of its last 12 games as a betting underdog.

In a battle between four-win teams back on American soil, the Carolina Panthers are hosting the Baltimore Ravens (-2) this Sunday. Carolina is 8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS in its last eight games at home per the OddsShark NFL Database. That streak will be put to the test against Baltimore’s 6-0 SU streak in games coming after a loss.

Sunday Night Football this week is a pick’em game as the 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS New Orleans Saints visit the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are 16-4-1 SU over their last 21 games and are 7-1 SU in their last eight games against the Saints. New Orleans enters this matchup on a five-game winning streak.

Also in prime time this week, the Miami Dolphins visit the Houston Texans (-7.5) on Thursday night and the New England Patriots (-14) are on the road against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are 0-4 SU and ATS in their last four home games against the Patriots.
