New England Patriots
After picking up back-to-back ugly road losses to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions, the media started to overreact as it often does, painting the picture that Tom Brady and the Patriots might be at the end of their dynasty.
And like the Patriots always do when they get off to slow starts, New England bounced back convincingly by crushing the Miami Dolphins, 38-7, last Sunday. Brady and Co. look to build on the momentum of that win with another this Thursday night.
While New England has been prone to some slow starts in September, October has been all business for the Patriots in recent years. The Patriots are 17-2 SU and 13-5-1 ATS over their last 19 October games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis took a gamble in overtime last Sunday against the Houston Texans, electing to go for it on fourth-and-4 from their own 43-yard-line instead of punting it away. The gamble didn’t pay off, and Houston quickly converted the mistake into a game-winning field goal to drop the Colts to 1-3 SU and 2-2 ATS on the season and to 2-9 SU over their last 11 games.
The Colts have had good fortune in Thursday games in recent years with an 11-2 SU and 10-3 ATS record in their last 13 games played on a Thursday.
Thursday night’s total is set at 51 points. The UNDER is 6-0 in Indianapolis’ last six games on the road.
New England may still have some kinks to work out on their roster this season, especially on the road. But facing a struggling team they have owned in recent years at home, this Thursday night’s matchup doesn’t look like one that should concern Patriots fans too much.
