Los Angeles Rams
Through the first three games of the season, the Rams have been the most dominant team in the NFL, and with the favorites ahead of them looking shaky early they have emerged as the new betting favorite on the odds to win the Super Bowl.
Los Angeles is off to a 3-0 SU and ATS start and has outscored its opponents 102 to 36 over that stretch. The offseason flurry of acquisitions that the Rams made have had no trouble gelling with the core that was already in place, building some major optimism around Los Angeles in 2018.
The Rams have been dominant as a betting favorite of late with a 9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS record in their last nine regular season games as one per the OddsShark NFL Database.
Minnesota Vikings
Like Los Angeles, the Vikings came into this season with plenty of optimism, adding Kirk Cousins to a team that went 14-4 SU and 11-7 ATS in 2017.
But early returns on Minnesota have not been strong as the team is off to a lackluster 1-1-1 SU and 1-2 ATS start. Last Sunday the Vikings were on the wrong end of one of the biggest upsets in NFL history, falling to the Buffalo Bills 27-6 as 16.5-point home favorites. Minnesota is just 1-5 ATS over its last six games.
Thursday night’s total is set at 49.5 points. The UNDER is 3-0 in the last three meetings between the Rams and the Vikings.
Coming off such a humiliating defeat, the Vikings have had just three days to regroup and travel across the country to face one of the league’s best teams. What looked like the game that would be the first real test on Los Angeles’ schedule before the season now suddenly looks like a game that the Rams need to avoid a letdown in facing an underachieving and frustrated group.
