Nashville Predators at Dallas Stars
When: Tuesday, February 19, 8:30 p.m. ET
Where: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
Betting Line / Total: Dallas -115 / 5.5 Goals
Nashville Predators Notes
Fueled by a 13-3 start out of the gate, the Predators surged to a 22-10-1 record through their first 33 games of the season. But since that hot start, Nashville has dealt with hot and cold streaks to go a modest 12-12-4 over their last 28 games including a 1-3-1 record over their last five.
The Predators are still one of the league’s best teams on defense and in goal allowing only 2.61 goals per game, but a 13th ranked offense (3.03 goals per game) and the worst power play in the league at a paltry 12.7% need to be improved upon if Nashville hopes to be successful this postseason.
In their last 10 games against the Stars, the Predators are 7-2-1 per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Dallas Stars Notes
Dallas entered its five-game road trip on February 7 with plenty of momentum on the heels of a five-game winning streak over its previous five games.
That momentum stopped abruptly as the team went 1-3-1 over its five road games, managing just seven total goals on the trip. The Stars rank 29th in the NHL on offense with only 2.5 goals per game and have been held scoreless in each of their last two games.
Predators at Stars Betting Total
Tuesday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals. The UNDER is 14-1-3 in Dallas’ last 18 games.
The Stars have won each of their last four games at home, and they return home for a three-game homestand that includes important divisional tilts against Nashville and St. Louis. Dallas sits four points behind St. Louis for the third spot in the Central Division and seven points out of last place in the division, setting the stage for a wild race over the last two months of the regular season.
