Where: Moda Center, Portland, Oregon
Betting Line / Total: Portland -3.5 / 234 Points
Oklahoma City Thunder Notes
Paul George returned to action on Tuesday after missing Oklahoma City’s previous three games with 25 points in 38 minutes, but his return wasn’t enough as the Thunder fell 131-120 in Minnesota.
The game continued a disturbing trend on defense for Oklahoma City as the team has now allowed 121 points per game over the six losses of its current 2-6 SU slump. Having George back will help the team on both sides of the court, but the whole team will need to get better on defense if it hopes to get back on track.
Before Oklahoma City’s current 2-6 SU and 0-8 ATS slump, the Thunder were 11-1 SU and 10-2 ATS in their previous 12 games per the OddsShark NBA Database.
Portland Trail Blazers Notes
Portland has been fantastic over its last eight games with a 6-2 SU and 7-1 ATS record that includes upset wins over Golden State, Philadelphia and Boston. A seven-game road trip at this point in the season could have spelled trouble for the Trail Blazers, but they passed the test with the only exception being a disappointing 120-111 loss at Memphis on Tuesday as 5.5-point road favorites.
Now the Trail Blazers return home, where they are 24-8 SU and 21-11 ATS so far this season.
Thunder at Trail Blazers Betting Total
Thursday night’s total is set at 234 points at online betting sites. The UNDER is 5-2 in the last seven games between the Thunder and the Trail Blazers.
Oklahoma City, Portland and the Houston Rockets all enter Thursday with matching 39-25 SU records. The battle for seeding will be a fierce one over the regular season’s final 18 games and head-to-head games like this one will definitely have a playoff atmosphere.
