The Knights soared through most of March with a 10-1 record before ending the regular season on a 1-5-2 skid. After losing Game 1 by a score of 5-2 it was looking as though the Golden Knights may have peaked too early, but those suspicions were quickly put to rest as Vegas has rolled to wins in each of its last three games.
Vegas has outscored San Jose 16-6 and has dominated the pace of play over that stretch. Mark Stone is leading the way with six goals and four assists in just four playoff games.

San Jose has made the playoffs 18 times over the last 20 NHL seasons, and all 18 of those trips have ended without a Stanley Cup victory. The Sharks continued their regular season consistency with a fourth straight season of at least 45 wins with a 46-27-9 record this year, but they now find themselves one game away from elimination.
Two of the remaining three games in this series are in San Jose however where the Sharks are 26-12-5 on the season.

Vegas has had San Jose’s number since joining the NHL and has now won five of its last six playoff games against the Sharks, all by two goals or more. San Jose’s history both in the postseason and against the Golden Knights doesn’t leave a ton of room for optimism, but a win in Game 5 would at least put some pressure on the Golden Knights heading back to Las Vegas.
