Fish Vs. Tsonga, ATP World Tour Finals 2011: Both Players Desperate For A Win

Andy Murray came into the 2011 ATP World Tour Finals as the third seed, but there’s no doubt about who the best three players in the world are. Two ‘other’ players had to end up in a group with two of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. That’s exactly what happened to Mardy Fish and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who are both desperate for a win on Tuesday. Tsonga lost to Federer in three sets on Sunday, while Fish took Nadal to the brink, eventually losing in a third set tiebreaker.

Due to the tournament’s format where the top two players from each group advance, this is a must-win for both players. Pending the results of today’s Nadal-Federer match, it’s most likely that the winner of this match will end up in a win and they’re in, lose and they’re out scenario in the third round of matches.

Tsonga and Fish have met just once, with Tsonga winning their only career meeting.
