Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have had a number of fantastic battles over their careers, but this is only their second high-profile meeting of the season. The two stars met in the final of the French Open where Nadal won in four sets, but that was it for their meetings this season. After years of being the clear top two players in the world, Novak Djokovic took his game to another level this season, preventing the world from seeing more of Federer and Nadal against each other.
Nadal Vs. Federer, ATP World Tour Finals 2011: Marquee Match Of The Group Round
Due to Nadal’s proficiency on clay courts and the number of clay court matches they’ve played, Nadal has a career record of 17-8 against Federer. The Spaniard has defeated Federer on other surfaces, but off of the clay their record is a bit more even.
The French open was the only major between the two players this season, as Djokovic took the other three. Federer did not have a great season by his standards, but won two smaller titles late in the season. The two face off in the final match of the Tuesday session from the O2 Arena in London, England.
