French Open 2011 Results: Novak Djokovic Ousts Juan Martin Del Potro In Four Sets

About half the matches have finished in Day 7 of the 2011 French Open. Among those advancing is Novak Djokovic, who needed four sets to put away Juan Martin Del Potro.

Djokovic, a 2-seed, received a strong challenged from the 25th-seeded Argentine. After Djokovic took the first set 6-3, Del Potro rallied to win the second set 6-3. Djokovic then won the next two sets, 6-3 6-2, to win the third-round match.

On Court Philippe Chatrier, meanwhile, top-seeded Rafa Nadal cruised past Antonio Veic, 6-1 6-3 6-0, to advance to the fourth round. Andy Murray will advance after ousting Michael Berrer in straight sets, 6-2 6-3 6-2.

Several of the scheduled matches for Day 7 have yet to be completed, including Maria Sharapova’s contest against Yung-Jan Chan.
