The Roland Garros semifinals match between World No. 1 Rafael Nadal and No. 4 Andy Murray was scheduled first on Day 13 of the French Open 2011, we like to think, because tournament organizers assumed it would be over with in a hurry, freeing up valuable primetime advertising hours for Federer-Djokovic. And he’s down a set, but wonder of wonders: Murray is (kinda) making Nadal work for his points.
French Open 2011 Update: Andy Murray Hanging With Rafael Nadal
Nadal took the first set, 6-4, but not without Murray battling to within deuce at 5-4, before he hit several crucial balls straight into the net in classic fashion. However! A double fault on Rafa’s part has just moved the second set to 3-all, and Murray’s serving. We could be in for a fun morning in Paris here, sports fans.
Just a reminder: You can view this match already in progress on the Tennis Channel or online at the Tennis Channel’s free live stream. At 11 a.m. EDT, NBC’s broadcasting block kicks in, and we’re all sort of baffled as to what happens then.
