WTA San Diego: Agnieszka Radwanska Slices Through Top Seed Vera Zvonareva In Mercury Insurance Open Final
No. 3 seed Agnieszka Radwanska notched one of the biggest titles of her career with over top-seeded Vera Zvonareva, winning 6-3, 6-4 in the final of the Mercury Insurance Open in San Diego, snapping the Russian’s tennis-best win streak at nine.
Radwanska used her game of slicing and spins to perfection in the final, keeping Zvonareva off-balance throughout the match. Radwanska also used her serve exceptionally well, placing it tight in the corners of the box to negate its lack of velocity.

Top seed Vera Zvonareva extended her tennis-best winning streak to nine with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 win over No. 5 seed Ana Ivanovic in the second semifinal of the Mercury Insurance Open in San Diego, California.
Zvonareva has not lost a match since Wimbledon, a run that included a title in Baku in mid-July.
