And so they meet again. On Monday afternoon in Flushing Meadows, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, the top-two players in the world, meet in the finals of the 2011 US Open on Arthur Ashe Court. Each navigated their way through the US Open bracket over the last two weeks, dodging the weather and, in Nadal’s case, cramps, to earn the right to play for the title.
U.S. Open 2011 Schedule: Rafael Nadal Vs. Novak Djokovic In Finals On Monday
Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic meet again as they take the court in the US Open Final on Monday afternoon.
Djokovic is looking to cap an outstanding year with yet another Grand Slam title. Wins at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, with a semifinal loss at Roland Garros, have Djokovic on the cusp of putting an exclamation point on his year, but with Nadal in the way, it won’t be easy.
On the other side of the court stands Nadal, who has also put together a strong year. After bowing out in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, Nadal captured the French Open on the clay at Roland Garros. At Wimbledon, Nadal fell to Djokovic in the finals, setting up Monday’s rematch at the US Open.
The action gets underway at 4 p.m. on Arthur Ashe Court. The finals will be broadcast on CBS and a live-stream can be found here.
