Rafael Nadal seemed to be fading fast, but just as it seemed OK to count him out, the Spaniard came roaring back to send his 2011 U.S. Open final against Novak Djokovic to a fourth set. Nadal broke Djokovic to get the third set to a tiebreaker and then won 7-3.

At the end of the set, Djokovic needed to get treatment on his back, while Nadal seemed raring to go.
The third set featured three breaks for each player as neither seemed capable of capitalizing on most of their opportunities. Nadal did finally get a bit of his swagger back, breaking Djokovic at love and then winning his serve easily to take a 4-3 lead.
Nadal did look better, overall, on his serve, winning the majority of his service points for the first time in any of the sets.
