French Open TV Schedule 2012: Rafael Nadal And Novak Djokovic Vie For Title

History is on the line as Rafael Nadal tries to match Bjorn Borg’s French Open record seven titles and Novak Djokovic tries to become the first men’s player since Ivan Lendl to hold all four Grand Slam titles at the same time.

Rafael Nadal has one more match to win before he matches Bjorn Borg’s record of six French Open titles, but that match is against the No. 1 player in the world. Novak Djokovic easily dispatched Roger Federer on Friday in the semifinals and will face Nadal in the final on Sunday.

Of course, everything looks easy for Nadal on clay. He has yet to drop a set in this year’s tournament at Roland Garros and he’s only lost once in his career at the French Open. He’s fresh off a thorough pummeling of fellow Spaniard David Ferrer in the semis and looks as unbeatable as ever.

Djokovic will be playing in his first French Open final, but don’t let that fool you into thinking clay isn’t his surface. He’s beaten Nadal twice in tournament finals on clay, and his style of play — a punishing mix of speed, power and guile — translates to any surface. It should be a phenomenal match, and it could even reach historic levels of significance if Djokovic is at his peak and Nadal is even slightly off; the Djoker is hoping to become the first men’s player since Rod Laver to hold all four Grand Slam titles at once.

Match Date/Time: Sunday, June 10, 9 a.m ET

Location: Roland Garros, Paris, France

TV: NBC
