The 2012 French Open is nearing a conclusion, but before a men’s champion can be crowned, the final must be set. Thursday’s semifinal matchups are not short on big names as four of the best players in the world will vie for a spot in Sunday’s final.
French Open TV Schedule 2012: Men’s Semifinals Set For Friday
Friday’s French Open schedule features the men’s singles semifinals with four of the best players in the world in action.
In the first semifinal, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic will face off against No. 3 seed Roger Federer. The two met in the semifinals of the 2011 French Open with Federer winning 3-2. This will be the 26th time the two have met and the 10th time they faced off in a Grand Slam event. Federer holds a 14-11 advantage all-time against Djokovic.
In the other semifinal, defending French Open champion Rafael Nadal will attempt to return to the final when he faces No. 6 seed David Ferrer. Ferrer eliminated No. 4 seed Andy Murray in the quarterfinals. This will be the 20th time Nadal and Ferrer have faced off with Nadal winning 15 of the previous 19 matches.
Television coverage of Friday’s semifinal matches will begin at 7 a.m. ET on the Tennis Channel. Coverage will shift to NBC at 11 a.m. ET.
