After one day of qualifying matches on Saturday, the 2012 BB&T Atlanta Open continues Sunday with first round matches.

In its 25th year as a stop on the ATP World Tour, two-time defending champion Mardy Fish, ranked No. 13 in the world, leads a field that includes Andy Roddick, John Isner (the top seed for this tournament) and rising Japanese star Kei Nishikori.

As part of the Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series Network, the BB&T Atlanta Open is primarily American players, and could be instrumental in the preparation of many struggling American tennis players as they prepare for the game’s fourth major in August and the Olympics in just two weeks.

Television coverage of the 2012 BB&T Atlanta Open begins on July 20 with quarterfinal action on ESPN2. The Tennis Channel will carry a few hours of quarter and semifinal action, while ESPN2 will carry the championship match on Sunday, July 22 at 3 p.m.
