Wimbledon 2012 Scores: Agnieszka Radwanska Advances Past Angelique Kerber Into Final

Agnieszka Radwanska is heading to the Wimbledon women’s final after a comfortable straight sets victory over Angelique Kerber. Even though Radwanksa was the No. 3 seed at Wimbledon, she had never made a major semifinal before this tournament. She now awaits the winner of the second semifinal between Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka.

Kerber struggled with her serve throughout the match, hitting just 56 percent of her first serves in. Radwanska didn’t rack up the aces or winners, but was in control throughout the match with a nearly mistake-free performance. She converted a much better 78 percent of her first serves, while committing just six unforced errors and going 3-3 on break point opportunities in her 6-3, 6-4 win.

Radwanska does not have a good head-to-head record against either of the other semifinalists, but given that she’s playing the best tennis of her life at the moment, she might have a good chance to turn the tables on either Williams or Azarenka.
