2012 Western & Southern Open: Roger Federer, Serena Williams Back In Action Thursday

The 2012 Western & Southern Open continues Thursday with the start of the third round. There will be plenty of notable names on the court Thursday, including No. 2 seed Serena Williams and No. 1 seed Roger Federer.

Federer will face Bernard Tomic in the third round. Federer advanced past Alex Bogomolov, Jr in the second round with a 6-3, 6-2 win. He isn’t the only high seed in action Thursday as No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic will face Nikolay Davydenko in the third round. Fresh off his Olympic gold medal, No. 3 seed Andy Murray will face Jeremy Chardy on Thursday.

On the women’s side, Williams will face Urszula Radwanska Thursday after knocking off Eleni Daniilidou in the second round. All of the top seven seeded players in the women’s bracket will be on the court Thursday. Notable matchups include No. 1 seed Agnieszka Radwanska against Sloane Stephens and No. 7 Sara Errani against Venus Williams.
