2012 U.S. Open Tennis Scores: Mardy Fish Loses First Set, Trying To Avoid Upset Loss

Day 4 at the 2012 U.S. Open is in full swing, as the schedule is hitting the meat of the early-afternoon matches. Currently, American Mardy Fish, the No. 23-overall seed, is facing Russia’s Nikolay Davydenko in a second-round match at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Davydenko leads the contest 6-4, 2-2.

So far, only one other men’s singles match as been completed as Kei Nishikori defeated Tim Smyczek, 6-2, 6-2, 6-4. Nishikori moves onto the third round where he will face the winner of Marin Cilic and Daniel Brands.

Meanwhile, here’s a list of the completed women’s singles matches:

  • Ana Ivanovic def. Sofia Arvidsson, 6-2, 6-2.
  • Maria Kirilenko def. Greta Arn, 6-3, 6-2
  • Jelena Jankovic def. Lara Arruabarrena-Vecino, 6-4, 6-2
  • Dominika Cibulk def. Bojana Jovanovski, 7-6, 7-6
  • Andrea Hlavacko def. Galina Voskoboeva, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3
