U.S. Open Tennis Bracket 2012: Roger Federer, Andy Roddick Highlight Round of 16 Action

Roger Federer once again highlights the men’s action in the U.S. Open, with the top-seeded player taking on American Mardy Fish in the Men’s Round of 16 set to begin on Monday.

The highlight of the round will likely be Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro taking on No. 20 Andy Roddick, who will hope to stave off his retirement for one more round against the No. 8 seed. The winner of that match will face the winner of No. 2 Novak Djokovic and No. 18 Stanislas Wawrinka in the quarterfinals.

No. 11 Nicolas Almagro of Spain will face No. 6 Tomas Berdych of Czechoslovakia, with the winner playing the victor of Federer-Fish.

No. 3 Andy Murray will take on Canada’s Milos Raonic, No. 15 in the tournament, with the winner either No. 12 Marin Cilic of Croatia or Slovakia’s Martin Klizan, who upset No. 32 Jeremy Chardy on Sunday.

Phillip Kohlschreiber, who defeated John Isner in the wee hours on Sunday night, draws No. 9 Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia. No. 4 David Ferrer, who overcame a sloppy performance to defeat Lleyton Hewitt in the third round, will take on No. 13 Richard Gasquet of France. The winners of those two matches will meet in the quarters.

Full schedule for the Round of 16 can be found at the U.S. Open’s website.
