Australian Open 2013 schedule and TV coverage for Wednesday’s matches

Day 3 of the Australian Open begins Wednesday in Melbourne, with TV coverage in the United States starting on Tuesday evening. The top three American men will be in action as the second round commences, and at least one will get through to the third round. Sam Querrey and Brian Baker will play in second match on Court 6, with No. 20 Querrey favored to get to the third round. Ryan Harrison, however, will be a heavy underdog as he takes on No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the final match of the evening session at Rod Laver Arena. The match should be on the air early Wednesday morning as the sun comes up in the U.S.

The Djokovic match will be preceded by Venus Williams’ second round match against Alize Cornet. Venus looked strong in her opening round straight-sets win over Galina Voskoboeva. The second round match for Venus will open the evening session at Laver, starting at 7 p.m. in Melbourne (3 a.m. ET). Another win for Venus would set up a potential third-round clash with No. 2 Maria Sharapova, who will play the final match of the day session at Hisense Arena.

Other top women playing second round matches include Aga Radwanska, Angelique Kerber, and Li Na. Radwanska will be in the first match of the day on center court, playing against Irina-Camelia Begu at 11 a.m. local (7 p.m. ET). Tomas Berdych and Aussie Sam Stosur will be featured the final two matches of the day session at Laver.
