Second-seeded Roger Federer has reached the semifinals of the Australian Open every year since 2004. No. 7 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is the only person standing in his way.

Tsonga was a finalist for the Australian Open in 2008. Federer has had better success at Melbourne Park, winning four of his 17 major titles there.

Federer seems to be destined to take on Andy Murray in the semifinals, assuming Murray beats his opponent as well. Federer was on point against Canadian Milos Raonic on Sunday, defeating him handily 6-4,7-6, 6-2. In the win, Federer only lost 12 points on the serve and finished the match with 14 aces and only 12 unforced errors.

Tsonga needed a bit more work to get by No. 9 seed Richard Gasquet to make the quarterfinals. Tsonga won 70 percent of the points as he won 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Federer is the big favorite to win, and has a history of success against Tsonga, going 8-3 in his lifetime.
