No. 3 seed Andy Murray will square off against unseeded Frenchman Jeremy Chardy in the men’s quarterfinal of the Australian Open, set to take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. local time.

To advance to the quarterfinal round, Murray defeated another Frenchman, No. 14 seed Gilles Simon, 6-3, 6-1, 6-3. Chardy defeated No. 21 seed Andreas Seppi of Italy 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

The winner of Wednesday’s tilt will face the winner of the match set to take place on Tuesday between No. 7 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France and No. 2 seed Roger Federer.

Murray collected his first Grand Slam title in 2012 when he defeated Novak Djokovic at the U.S. Open. Chardy, a 25-year-old, has never reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam prior to this year.
