Serena Williams will continue a bid to seek her 16th Grand Slam title vs. the 19-year-old.

Third-seeded Serena Williams will seek to continue her bid to win a 16th Grand Slam title and a sixth Australian Open title when she faces fellow American and No. 29 seed Sloane Stephens on Wednesday at Rod Laver arena at noon local time.

Williams defeated No. 14 seed Maria Kirilenko of Russia 6-2, 6-0 en route to the appearance in the quarterfinals. Stephens had a slightly more difficult road to reach the quarterfinals when she beat unseeded Bojana Jovanovski of Serbia, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 in order to advance.

Williams last won the Australian Open in 2010 but won both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open last season. Stephens, a 19-year-old out of Coral Gables, Fla., is looking to win her first Grand Slam title and will have to go through the veteran to have a shot at either No. 1 seed Victoria Azarenka of Russia or unseeded Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova in the semifinals.

Stephens’ previous best finish at a Grand Slam was when she advanced to the fourth round of the 2012 French Open.

All of the action can be seen live on ESPN2, ESPN3 and the Tennis Chanel.
