BNP Paribas Open 2013 results: Kevin Anderson bests Gilles Simon, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga outlasts Milos Raonic Wednesday
Wednesday was full of action at the BNP Paribas Open. Kevin Anderson upset Gilles Simon, Roger Federer was pushed to his limits and more.

Outside of that second set, it was relatively smooth sailing for Anderson, who is defying the odds at this point. He converted on three of his seven break points over the one-hour, 47-minute matchup. It’s the second upset for Anderson thus far, as he took out No. 4 David Ferrer in the second round of the tournament.
It only gets tougher from here, though, as Anderson will face No. 6 Tomas Berdych in the next round. Berdych dominated Richard Gasquet on Wednesday to advance to the quaterfinals. He bested Gasquet 6-1, 7-5.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was also victorious to advance. He bested Milos Raonic in a very hard-fought, back-and-forth matchup, winning with a score of 4-6, 7-5, 6-4. Roger Federer had some problems with his Wednesday opponent as Stanislas Wawrinka took him to the edge. Still, Federer came out on top 6-3, 6-7, 7-5. Rafael Nadal bested Ernests Gulbis to advance, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Andy Murray won his matchup as well, besting Carlos Berlocq. The quarterfinals are set to begin on Thursday with the Berdych vs. Anderson matchup.
