Thursday matches have concluded from Wimbledon, and the top seeds in each bracket both advanced to play another day. However, rain delayed play during the day and eventually forced the cancellation of matches on the outside courts.

In the men’s bracket, top seed Novak Djokovic earned a spot in the third round by defeating American Bobby Reynolds, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3, 6-1. No. 7 seed Tomas Berdych defeated Germany’s Daniel Brands, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4, 6-2, and No. 8 seed Juan Martin Del Potro also was victorious, defeating Canadian Jesse Levine, 6-2, 7-6 (9-7), 6-2. The only seeded player to lose on Thursday was the No. 17 seed, Milos Raonic of Canada, who fell in straight sets to the Netherlands’ Igor Sijsling, 7-5, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

On the women’s side, top seed Serena Williams cruised past France’s Caroline Garcia, 6-3, 6-2, and No. 4 seed Agnieszka Radwanska defeated France’s Mathilde Johansson in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Li Na, the No. 6 seed, also advanced, winning 6-2, 1-6, 6-0, over the Romanian Simona Halep. As with the men, only one seeded woman lost on Thursday, as No. 24 seed Shuai Peng of China lost to New Zealand’s Marina Erakovic, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2.

Thursday’s postponed matches have been moved to Friday and include Laura Robson against Mariana Duque-Marino on the women’s side and No. 4 David Ferrer versus Roberto Bautista Agut.
