The third round of the men's singles tournament at Wimbledon was not without intrigue. No. 4 seed David Ferrer was taken to the wire by No. 26 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov, but the favorite managed to survive an upset to win his match 6-7(6), 7-6(2), 2-6, 6-1, 6-2. Ferrer won just seven of 24 breakpoints and made 39 unforced errors.

The majority of the top seeds all advanced, but there were a few upsets on Saturday at Wimbledon.

Novak Djokovic, the No. 1 seed in the tournament, cruised to victory over Jeremy Chardy, winning 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. Djokovic has yet to be challenged through three rounds at Wimbledon. More remarkable: Djokovic made just three unforced errors. Djokovic said after the match, per Wimbledon.com:
I felt great from the start till the end. I had that super focus, you know, and tried to, you know, be out there every point and not allow him to come back to the match or to have I saw the stats that I won 100% of first serves and I served over 80% of serves in in the whole match. That was incredible for me. I enjoyed every moment of it, especially at the end. I managed to read his serve. Everything went well. So when you play that well, obviously you feel great, you feel confident.
The biggest upset on Saturday occurred when unranked Bernard Tomic took down No. 9 Richard Gasquet in four sets, 7-6(7), 5-7, 7-5, 7-6(5). The 20-year-old Australian will meet No. 7 Tomas Berdych next.
