The 2014 French Open has not been kind to the top-seeded players in the women’s draw. No. 1 Serena Williams and No. 2 Li Na lost early in the tournament and No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska joined them on Friday when she lost to Ajla Tomljanovic in straight sets.

No. 7 Maria Sharapova had more success, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Paula Ormaechea.
