Wimbledon 2014: Time, TV schedule, live streaming for Monday’s matches

The 2014 Wimbledon Championships begin Monday, and that means Andy Murray will return to the historic scene from a year ago.

The first British man to win Wimbledon in nearly 80 years will begin another run in front of a London crowd, this time as the third-ranked player in the tournament. His first test will be the first match on Centre Court, against Belgium’s David Goffin set for 8 a.m. ET.

The opening day of play will also see the 2013 runner-up, Nikola Djokovic, aim for redemption. The top-ranked Serbian will play the third match on Centre Court against Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan. In addition to Murray and Djokovic, No. 7 David Ferrer will face Pablo Carreno Busta while No. 6 Tomas Berdych will square off with Victor Hanescu in the first round.

No. 2 Na Li begins her journey through the women’s bracket with a match against Poland’s Paula Kania. Agnieszka Radwanska is ranked fourth and will open her Wimbledon against Romanian Andreea Mitu. A pair of notable Americans will also be on the court for their first round matches. No. 18 Sloane Stephens will face Maria Kirilenko while No. 30 Venus Williams will matchup against Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor.

ESPN will handle the television coverage on Monday with eight hours of live coverage. The coverage will begin on ESPN at 7 a.m. It will remain on the network’s flagship station until 11:30 a.m. when it will switch to ESPNEWS. The broadcast will run until 4 p.m. There will be a simulcast of the coverage on ESPN2 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. for those viewers without access to ESPNEWS. ESPN3 will provide online coverage with several live streams. There will also be live coverage on Wimbledon.com.
