U.S. Open 2014: Schedule, TV coverage and live streaming for Day 1

Novak Djokovic, Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova highlight the first day of Round 1 action at the 2014 U.S. Open.

Top-ranked men’s tennis player Novak Djokovic will close the 2014 U.S. Open’s opening day of Round 1 play against Diego Schwartzman on Monday night. The second game of the night session at Arthur Ashe Stadium will follow a women’s match between No. 5 seed Maria Sharapova and fellow Russian Maria Kirilenko.

The morning and afternoon sessions on Monday include a solid lineup as well. Romanian and second-ranked women’s player Simona Halep faces American underdog Danielle Collins at 11 a.m. ET. That match is followed by Venus Williams taking on Japan’s Kimiko Date-Krumm, then a men’s singles match between No. 3 seed Stan Wawrinka and Jiri Vesely.

The 11 a.m. session at Louis Armstrong Stadium begins with fourth-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska facing Canadian Sharon Fichman. They will be followed by Robin Haase of the Netherlands taking on No. 8 seed Andy Murray.
