The 2014 U.S. Open has reached the second week. Favorites did well early on, but but as the first week went on the upsets began to pile up. The top seeds in both the women’s and men’s singles remain heading into the second week with Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic avoiding upset thus far.
U.S. Open 2014: How to watch Week 2 matches
The U.S. Open heads to the second week with the field narrowing down and a few big names already ousted.


The field has been narrowed considerably with the rounds of 16 set for Monday. The women’s quarterfinals will begin on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday while the men’s quarterfinals will begin on Wednesday and wrap up on Thursday. The women’s semifinals will take place on Friday with the final on Sunday while the men’s singles semifinals will be held on Saturday with a Monday finish.
CBS and ESPN will combine on the television coverage for the week. On Monday, CBS and CBS Sports Network will handle the early broadcast before ESPN2 takes over with late coverage. ESPN will have 12 hours of coverage on Tuesday with coverage divided between ESPN and ESPN2 on Wednesday. ESPN will air nine hours of coverage on Thursday. CBS will pick up the bulk of the coverage the rest of the way with extended broadcasts on and Saturday. ESPN2 will air the men’s doubles final on Sunday while CBS will provide coverage of the women’s singles final on Sunday and men’s singles final on Monday.
U.S. Open live will provide online coverage in addition to the television broadcasts. Here is a look at the second week coverage.
