Australian Open 2015 live streaming: How to watch Week 1 online

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are back and healthy. Here’s how you can watch them online at the 2015 Australian Open.

The first Grand Slam of 2015 is here, and most of the top names will be in action for the Australian Open, which gets underway on Jan. 18 and will run through Jan. 31. Rafael Nadal will be playing in his first big event in six months after missing last year’s U.S. Open due to injury. Nadal being back means he’s one of the favorites, but the usual cast is there to try and stop him.

That includes, of course, top seed Novak Djokovic. He’s playing as good as ever, and is a bigger favorite than Nadal. Then there’s Roger Federer, who dealt with multiple injuries throughout last year, but is well-rested, healthy and coming off a win in Brisbane that saw him earn his 1,000th career victory.

On the women’s side, Serena Williams is in action and the favorite, though Venus Williams has been playing some incredible tennis and should be considered a dark horse on that side of the bracket. Venus is just the No. 18 seed, but she should go deep in this bracket.

Television coverage of the whole event will be carried by ESPN and the Tennis Channel. Early round play through the quarterfinals (and women’s semifinals) will be broadcast on ESPN2 and Tennis Channel, while ESPN’s flagship network will carry the men’s semifinals and both championship matches. That makes it nice and easy.

For online coverage of the matches, WatchESPN is the best option by far. They’ll have every match available live, though the Australian Open website does their own live streaming as well. Both have been reliable options in the past.
