French Open 2015: Matches and TV schedule for Friday at Roland Garros

Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova will be in action for Round 3 at Roland Garros on Friday.

Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

The third round of the 2015 French Open is here, and both of the main draws are relatively intact as far as the top seeds are concerned. Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic all made it into the third round, but they won’t get back on the court until Saturday. On Friday, the No. 2 seeds for both brackets -- Roger Federer for the men and Maria Sharapova for the women -- will be in action.

Federer, who only has one French Open title among his 17 Grand Slams, will be facing Damir Dzumhur on Philippe-Chatrier Court. His match will be the second of the day, following No. 29 seed Alize Cornet against Mirjana Lucic-Baroni on the women’s side. Federer doesn’t have many opportunities left to get that elusive second title at Roland Garros, so he needs to keep his play perfect.

Sharapova faces her first seeded opponent of the tournament in the No. 26 seed, Samantha Stosur. Other top seeds who will play Friday include men’s No. 4 Tomas Berdych and No. 8 Stan Wawrinka. Berdych is up against Benoit Paire, while Wawrinka will battle American Steve Johnson. No. 7 Ana Ivanovic and No. 8 Carla Suarez Navarro will also take the court for the women, with Ivanovic taking on Donna Vekic and Navarro facing another seeded opponent, No. 28 Flavia Pennetta.

This all gets underway at 5 a.m. ET. ESPN2 will televise the tournament through 10 a.m. From there, the Tennis Channel will carry coverage through 3:30 p.m. Live streaming options are available at WatchESPN, and via the Tennis Channel's official site. Below are some of the important matchups, with a full schedule available at the Roland Garros website.
