The women’s finals are set at Wimbledon, and on Friday the men’s field will also be narrowed down to two players. We’re heading into the men’s semifinals with all of the top three seeds intact, along with the No. 21 seed, who bounced out No. 4 seed Stan Wawrinka in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

On Friday, top seed Novak Djokovic will be taking on said No. 21 seed, Richard Gasquet, while No. 2 seed Roger Federer will face No. 3 seed Andy Murray. Both should be exciting matches, obviously given the high seeding of the latter two, but Gasquet presents an interesting challenge for Djokovic, as well.
Gasquet last appeared in a Wimbledon semifinal in 2007, and is far from an unknown commodity at this point. He’s been around for a long time, but he’s been playing some of his best tennis of late. He outright refused to lose in the match against Wawrinka, a man who bested Djokovic in the finals at Roland Garros. That said, Djokovic holds a 12-1 lead in the series between the two.
Murray and Federer have a long rivalry, though Federer holds the historical edge by one meeting, and won all three times the two faced each other last year. It should be a fun match to watch.
The men’s semifinals are set to get underway at 8 a.m. ET, and will be broadcast on ESPN. Their coverage will last until both semifinals have been played. An online stream will be available at WatchESPN.
