US Open 2015: Schedule, TV coverage and live streaming for Day 5

Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams will both be playing in third-round action at the US Open on Friday.

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

The third round of the U.S. Open will get underway on Friday, and once again, the top seeds are in action. Women’s top seed Serena Williams will be facing off against unseeded opponent Bethanie Mattek-Sands, while men’s top seed Novak Djokovic will face his first seeded opponent, No. 25 Andreas Seppi.

Williams and Djokovic dominated their first two opponents and will look to do more of the same. Williams beat Vitalia Diatchenko in her opening match, 6-0, 2-0 (her opponent retired with an injury), and then took down Kiki Bertens in straight sets 7-6(5), 6-3. Djokovic downed Joao Souza, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 in his opening match and beat Andreas Haider-Maurer in his second, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0.

Djokovic is going for his third Grand Slam this year, after winning both the Australian Open and Wimbledon. He did not win the French Open, losing the final to Stan Wawrinka, who will play on Saturday. Marin Cilic, the winner of last year’s US Open, will be up against Mikhail Kukushkin on Friday. Williams won all three of the other Grand Slams this year and is hoping to become the first woman since Steffi Graf to win all four in a single year.

Friday’s matches will be broadcast from 1 p.m. ET through 6 p.m. on ESPN, and from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on ESPN2. Live streaming of all the days matches will be available at WatchESPN, beginning at 11 a.m. We’ve got the men’s and women’s singles matches below, but if you want a full schedule of events, go here.
