French Open 2016: TV schedule and matches for Friday at Roland Garros

Will Andy Murray go 15 sets in three matches?

Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

The third round of the 2016 French Open will get underway on Friday, and it will be the first time we see seeded players going up against seeded players. Things don’t really heat up until the Round of 16 and the quarterfinals, but there are still plenty of things to watch going into the day’s matches at Roland Garros.

Andy Murray, the No. 2 seed for the men, will be in action, and seeing what he looks like against No. 27 Ivo Karlovic will be very interesting. Murray was pushed to the full five sets in each of his last two matches against unseeded opponents. Murray has to be feeling fatigued, and this early in the tournament that could be an issue. Karlovic is no slouch and Murray should be on notice for this one.

Stan Wawrinka, the defending champion and No. 3 seed, was also pushed to five sets in his opening round match, but he had a much easier time the second time around. He’ll face his first seeded opponent on Friday, going up against Jeremy Chardy, the No. 30 seed. Other top men playing on Friday include Kei Nishikori and Milos Raonic.

On the women’s side, No. 2 seed Agnieszka Radwanska will be in action up against No. 30 seed Barbora Strycova. Other top women in action include Garbine Muguruza and Simona Halep, the No. 4 and No. 6 seeds, respectively.

Television coverage of the day begins at 5 a.m. ET on the Tennis Channel. Their coverage will run through 3 p.m. Online streaming is available at NBC Sports Live Extra and the Tennis Channel.
