With the first day of Wimbledon in the books and both Novak Djokovic and Garbine Muguruza safely through to the second round, it’s time for the men’s second and women’s first seeds to be in action. That means Andy Murray and Serena Williams will launch their bids on the grass of Wimbledon.
Wimbledon 2016: Time, TV schedule and live streaming for Tuesday’s matches
Serena Williams and Andy Murray will be in action for Wimbledon on Tuesday.

Murray will be up against unseeded Liam Broady, while his potential semifinal round opponent, Stan Wawrinka, will face Taylor Fritz. Williams has to worry about a potential finals rematch against Muguruza, but she should take solace in the fact that Muguruza struggled big time on Monday and was pushed to a third set against Camila Giorgi.
Williams will face Amra Sadikovic in her opening round match. Her sister, Venus Williams, won her opener on Monday, and the two will continue to alternate days through the third round. Serena is still searching for her 22nd Grand Slam singles title, which would tie her with Steffi Graf for the most in women’s tennis history. She had her chance in the French Open but fell to Muguruza in the final.
But Williams is also the defending Wimbledon champion, having beaten Muguruza in the final on these grass courts a year ago. That was Muguruza’s first ever appearance in a Grand Slam final. Williams has appeared in the last three Grand Slam finals, and she has lost them all. Tying Graf’s record has eluded her thus far. But she’s still expected to handle Sadikovic without issue in the first round.
Richard Gasquet, Dominic Thiem and Tomas Berdych are among the other top-ranked men playing on Tuesday. Agnieszka Radwanska, who was drawn into Serena’s half of the bracket, will also be in action. Roberta Vinci, Belinda Bencic and Petra Kvitova are other top-10 women in action on the day.
Tuesday’s matches will begin at 1 p.m. local time on the top two courts and 11:30 a.m. on the outer courts. That translates to a beginning time of 6:30 a.m. ET on the outer courts. Television coverage of the day’s action will be carried on ESPN, beginning at 7 a.m. and running through around 4:30 p.m. Online streams of all matches will be available via WatchESPN.
