Andy Murray vs. Milos Raonic, Wimbledon 2016: Time, TV schedule and live stream for men’s final

The last time Milos Raonic managed to beat Andy Murray was at Indian Wells in 2014, when Raonic won in three sets on the hard court. The two have met nine times, with Murray taking six of those meetings, but that includes the last five times they have faced off.

Murray has beaten Raonic three times in 2016 already, and will be the favorite going into Sunday’s Wimbledon Championships final. That final will be played from Centre Court starting at 9 a.m. ET, and broadcast on ESPN. A live stream will be available via WatchESPN.

The match will be the first on the court for the day and it’s the biggest one of the tournament. Murray, the second seed, benefited from the early exit of Novak Djokovic, and was spared another finals matchup with Roger Federer when Raonic took him down in the semifinals.

That match was a five setter, and may also have fatigued Raonic quite a bit given its five-set length. Raonic took an early lead, but let it get away when Federer took the third and fourth sets. Ultimately, he held strong and will go into Sunday’s final trying to become the first Canadian man to win a singles Grand Slam.

Murray most recently beat Maonic on the grass courts of London, where he won in three sets. Raonic took the first set tiebreak over Murray, but the Brit responded well to take the next two sets. When they met in the semifinals of the Australian Open earlier this year, Murray needed all five sets to best the Canadian, winning 4-6, 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2.

Murray last won Wimbledon in 2013, becoming the first British man in over 70 years to win the tournament. Now he could be the first British man to pick up two titles on its grass courts in over 70 years as well. He also holds a win in the US Open in 2012, but has been without a Grand Slam win the past three years due to being unable to consistently get past players like Djokovic and Federer.

This is Murray’s third Grand Slam final of 2016. He lost in the finals of the Australian Open to Djokovic, and again in the French Open final just a few weeks ago. Raonic will be playing in his first ever Grand Slam final.
