Women’s No. 3 seed Agnieszka Radwanska, considered to be the top competition for Serena Williams since Garbine Muguruza was eliminated in the second round, was upset herself in the Round of 16 at Wimbledon on Monday. Radwanska found herself on the losing end of a three-set match against Dominicka Cibulkova. The 19th seed, Cibulkova took down Radwanska, 6-3, 5-7, 9-7.

Cibulkova will advance to the quarterfinals, where she will face unseeded Elena Vesnina. Williams also made it into the quarterfinals on Monday, easily handling No. 13 Svetlana Kuznetsova in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0.

On the men’s side, both Andy Murray and Roger Federer kept their potential semifinal meeting on the calendar with straight-set victories. Murray and Federer are the two favorites in the tournament after American Sam Querrey eliminated top seed Novak Djokovic in the third round. Murray took down No. 15 Nick Kyrgios, 7-5, 6-1, 6-4. Federer bested unseeded Steve Johnson, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5.

Querrey also advanced, making it to his first-ever Grand Slam quarterfinals. Querrey took down Nicolas Mahut in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-4.

Both Richard Gasquet, the seventh seed, and Kei Nishikori, the fifth seed, retired from their matches due to injury. That sent Marin Cilic and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga into the next round. For Tsonga, it had to have been something of a relief after he played a grueling four-hour match against John Isner in the third round on Sunday.
