Wimbledon 2016: Time, TV schedule, live streaming for Friday’s matches

Here’s how you can watch the men’s semifinals at Wimbledon on Friday.

Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

The women’s finals at this year’s Wimbledon are set, with Serena Williams set to take on Angelique Kerber in a rematch of their Australian Open final. But before that gets underway on Saturday, the men’s semifinals have to take place. Those semifinals will be broadcast live on ESPN beginning at 8 a.m. ET on Friday, with a live stream available via WatchESPN.

Andy Murray, the No. 2 seed and favorite to win, will have a tough match against No. 10 seed Tomas Berdych on his path to the finals. Roger Federer, the third seed, will have to get through No. 6 Milos Raonic if he wants to make the finals on Sunday as well.

For Murray, he’s looking for his second title at Wimbledon. When he won it in 2013 for the first time, he ended a 77-year drought at the tournament for British men. Fred Perry, the last British man to win before Murray, won three straight times from 1934-36.

His opponent, Berdych, is going for his first Grand Slam title. If he gets it, he would be the first men’s champion from the Czech Republic, dating back through 1993 when Czechoslovakia split. He’s been in the Wimbledon finals before and has made the semifinals of each Grand Slam, but has never won one.

On the other side, Federer is looking for his 18th Grand Slam singles title. He hasn’t won one in some time, with his last coming in 2012. He has seven Wimbledon titles, and if he were to win an eighth this year then the 34-year-old would become the oldest men’s player to ever win at Wimbledon and would set a new record for most men’s singles titles at the tournament. Raonic is in a similar position to Berdych in that he would be the first Canadian man to win a Grand Slam title.
